Overview

Magma Firestop SBP 10 is a granulated fire retardant specifically designed for the treatment of wood.
This is dissolved in water to produce the working substance at a concentration of 10-12% of its volume.
Materials can be treated by the following processes: spraying, dipping, brushing.

  • The protection of wood against the action of fire is achieved by treatment with substances called fire retardants, which are intended to increase the resistance of wood materials to burning. By their organic nature, these woody materials belong to the category of combustible substances and do not totally lose this property through fireproofing. Treating wood with flame retardants leads to a delay in ignition and, after ignition, to a slowing down of the burning process and rapid extinction.
  • The effect of delaying the burning process is limited and leads in practice to a prolongation of the time needed for the fire to start, making it possible to take extinguishing measures.
Non-toxic. Does not affect biodegradability. It is odorless and colorless. Contains no hydrocarbon halogens. It does not significantly change the structure of the treated material. It is recommended to use rubber gloves and protective goggles during spray treatments. In case of contact with the substance, wash the area with plenty of water.
