Antique rafter - Description
We offer antiqued rafter for both interior and exterior construction on the roofs of houses or cottages. Depending on what you want to achieve, we can help you with technical information about the varnish, the degree of gloss or the method of antiquing the wood. The price does NOT include the Millesi wax-based lacquer impregnation process. Classic shades such as anthracite gray, white, off-white, off-white, cream or any desired shades can be chosen using a color palette.
Antiquing or the technique of ageing wood describes finishes that give the wood a particular texture, often the wood has 'blemishes' that are actually naturally occurring; scratches, small holes, dulling, fading, and edgewear. That dirty, or oily/glossy look protects the wood but perfectly outlines the vintage design. The antiquing process involves special drying, planing, and then special treatments are applied on request, once the use in the house design is determined.
