Antiqued wood is a type of building material that is part of special projects, where a unique design is desired. This type of material is created by treating wooden profiles using various procedures (chemical, mechanical or exposure to natural elements) in order to reproduce the image of decades or hundreds of years old pieces of wood. Acidic or alkaline chemicals and mechanical processes such as brushing, scratching or hammering the surface are used to produce this type of finish.
